Dentures replace not only lost teeth but also missing soft tissue in your mouth that can make it difficult to speak clearly and eat. There are two types of dentures — full and partial. We make both at our Phoenix-area dental practice, including removable partial dentures that will make your life easier and mimic the look and feel of real teeth.
Partial dentures can replace just a few teeth when you have some remaining natural ones in your mouth. For instance, say you’re missing three of your front upper teeth, but the rest are still intact. You can get a partial denture to fill in those gaps instead of having all your teeth extracted and going with full dentures, which replace an entire arch of teeth.
If you’ve been considering partial dentures, talk to our team of dental professionals to ensure it’s the right approach. Contact our office or online to set up a consultation.
Request AppointmentWhen you lose one or more teeth, you need to get some type of replacement for three reasons:
You have several choices for replacing these missing teeth. You could get dental implants or bridges. Partial dentures are the other option, and many people take this route. Dentures benefit your mouth in many ways. In addition to restoring those speaking and chewing functions, they can help to strengthen your jawbone as well as restore your tooth structure, protecting your mouth against future issues.
We customize our removable partial dentures to your mouth to provide you with the best possible fit. We measure your mouth and take impressions of it, which we then give to the laboratory to make dentures that match the size and layout you need. When the dentures are ready, you’ll come back to try them on, and we can make any adjustments you need for the most comfortable fit. It may take a few sessions to complete the entire process of creating and fitting the dentures.
Ask us about options for different shades to match your gums and the addition of bumps or ridges to make the gumlines look more natural. We do our best to ensure that no one will know you’re wearing dentures. They’ll be so comfortable, you might just forget yourself!
We’ll give you instructions on how to care for your new partial dentures. Remember that a bit of soreness may occur initially, and it may take a little time to get used to changes in your saliva as well. With proper cleaning and maintenance, your partial dentures can last for a long time to come.
