Emergency Dental Treatments at Our Office

Patients request our emergency dental services for reasons such as:

  • Broken or knocked-out teeth due to trauma
  • Missing dental crowns or fillings that expose nerves in the teeth
  • Intense facial pain that interferes with chewing or biting
  • Swollen mouth or face from a dental infection
  • Severe TMJ that makes it hard to open and close your mouth

You may have a different reason for seeking emergency dental treatment. We can direct you to the right solution if you believe you have an urgent dental issue.

What to Expect During an Emergency Dental Visit

During your appointment, the emergency dentists at AZ Family Dental will examine your teeth and mouth. They will check for any signs of disease or infection and ask you about your symptoms. Then, they will get you ready for the required procedure. The length of your visit will depend on the cause of your problem and the treatments needed to resolve it. If you have a nerve-related emergency, the dentist will use a numbing agent to keep you comfortable. You may also need a follow-up appointment.

After your emergency visit, the dentist will give you instructions that show you how to care for your mouth and teeth. Following these steps and practicing good oral hygiene will help you reduce the risk of future emergencies.

Testimonials

I absolutely love this dental office. The staff is beyond exceptional, the dentists are great and I always feel valued.

Nikki, Glendale

As a new patient, I felt welcomed and very much cared for by the staff of AZ Family Dental. Dr. Parker explained thoroughly my dental problems that need to be addressed and were clear as to how the procedure goes. I have never felt more comfortable while being at the dentist while I was getting my procedures done. Thank you everyone for taking good care of me!

Zea P, Glendale

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a dentist! Everyone is very warm and welcoming. Dr. V and Diana explained everything throughly as they went so there were no surprises!

Sharon Rose Scataglini, Cave Creek

We are so grateful to have such a wonderful team to help care for me and my children’s dental health! My kiddos who are still quite young were relaxed and happy to sit in the chair, and it helped a lot that the dental assistants and office management were so accommodating. Dr. Vacanti, Diana and Linday are among the very best! We are grateful to you!

Should I Go to the ER or the Dentist?

Like other urgent health issues, dental emergencies can require varying levels of care. Symptoms that need immediate attention or threaten your life may need a visit to the emergency room. Examples of problems suited for the ER include fractures, dislocations, severe infections, and lacerations. Some issues still need immediate care, but they don’t threaten your life. For example, a broken or lost tooth should get treatment from a dentist as soon as possible, but it causes no immediate harm.

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Our offices are located in the greater Phoenix, area. Between the time of your emergency and your appointment, you can take a few measures to promote recovery:

  • Rinse your mouth with warm water to cleanse the affected area and wash away germs.
  • If you have a lost or broken tooth, keep the fragment or tooth moist with a glass of milk. You may try to reinsert your tooth if you lost the entire tooth. Keep a reinserted tooth in place by biting down on a gauze pad.
  • Try to tell your dentist as many details as possible about the cause of your dental emergency. You can write them down if you think it would help you remember.
